What our customers think
CCT
CCT LED strip lighting can transform your home and business by providing a specific light warmth that is consistent and reliable. Whether you need a bright white for carrying out precision work or want to create a cosy ambience for your space with a warm white, CCT LED lighting can help you achieve the perfect lighting.
What does CCT stand for?
In lighting, CCT stands for correlated colour temperature and is a type of measurement that determines how warm or cool a light appears. It is usually used to describe the light level from artificial light sources such as LEDs and fluorescent lighting.
What is CCT in LED strips?
CCT specifically describes the amount of white light emitted by a light source such as an LED strip. Having an understanding of CCT measurements and their meaning will help you choose the best CCT LED strip for your space. Here’s a breakdown of the different warmths you can expect from the LED strip light collection at ArcLED:
- Amber – Amber light provides a comforting golden glow that contributes to the relaxing ambience of your space. If you prefer low-lighting levels that give fireside-style warmth to a room, this is the LED light for you.
- Ultra Warm White – Enjoy a warming soft glow from your LED lights that will make you and your guests feel at ease in your space, whether you are in a business space such as a restaurant or hotel, or your own home.
- Very Warm White – Not too warm and not too cool, this Goldilocks level of lighting provides a great level of light for a range of activities. Switch up the ambience from a restful movie-marathon evening to a fun-filled board game extravaganza, this versatile lighting will enhance the mood no matter what it is.
- Warm White – If you love to keep a warm yellow tone in your room but would like to benefit from LED lighting, warm white is a great choice. This refreshing shade will help you motivate yourself to get your work done while also encouraging you to relax and read a book when the job is done.
- Natural White – If you love to be outdoors, you may find yourself craving bright lights. Shake off the long winter nights with a natural white light. No matter the weather outside, your room will always feel light and airy whether you are working or simply relaxing in your space.
- Cool White – The ultimate cool light level, this shade of white is designed to bring crisp and bright tones into your space whether it is your home or business. If a bright space is your ultimate goal for your room, cool white can provide it. Bright light will help you carry out precision work or simply enjoy lighting up features of your room such as artwork.
What is better, CCT or RGB?
If your main goal with your LED lighting is to be able to customise the colour temperature then choose CCT lights. However, if you want to be able to change the colour or your LED strip lights or have more options then choose RGB. RGB (Red Green Blue), as the name suggests, includes not only different warmths of white but also coloured lights. If you are looking for RGB LED strip lights, check out the extensive range here at ArcLED.
If a spectrum of white tones is the style you are looking for, then you will be happy to hear that many of the types of CCT LED lighting are tunable. This means you can adjust the level of light that is emitted. This flexibility means you can enjoy warmer shades of white when you are ready to relax but you can also turn up the level to a cool white if you need clear and bright lighting.
If you do want to be able to change the light level of your CCT LED lights then make sure to stop by our range of controllers. You will need to install a means of changing your lights to be able to make full use of this function.
Not only can you choose the light level of your LED strip, but you can also use our made to measure service to get the right size for your project. Our LED strip lights can be cut at certain intervals, allowing you to customise your project.
What is the CCT value of LED lights?
If you choose one of our tunable CCT LED lights you can adjust the level, typically between 1800k to 6500k. The CCT level is measured in Kelvins and allows you to enjoy the full spectrum of light levels from amber to cool white.
If you want to use CCT LED ceiling lights in your home, for example, you may not need the full range of CCT values so you will also find other options in our dimmable and tunable range.
Like all LED strip lights, there are several measurements to consider to ensure you are choosing the best product for your project. You can choose measurements such as the voltage. Most of our CCT LED lighting is 24V. The main factor in deciding whether you need a 12V or 24V CCT LED strip is the length of your LED strip. In order to enjoy consistent light levels throughout the LED strip, it is best to choose 24V as this will ensure the power does not diminish when it reaches the lights furthest away from the power source. If you are completing a smaller project, such as lighting up shelves or kitchen counters, you may prefer a 12V CCT LED strip as they can usually be cut more easily at shorter intervals.
Our CCT LED strip lights will help you bring light to your room at the exact warmth or coolness of your choosing. This lighting solution is popular in the home as well as in business spaces due to the ability to customise the light settings.
