What our customers think
Side Bending Strip
If you are looking for LED lighting for your room it might be because you need bespoke or custom-fit designs to fill an unusual space. From business signs to highlighting shelves, LED strip lights can create amazing light displays that transform the ambience of a room. Strip lighting is also the ideal solution for your everyday lighting as it looks amazing aesthetically and you can choose the perfect light level for you.
For even more flexible LED lighting, we are introducing the side bending LED strip but what is a side bending LED strip?
A side bending LED strip is specially designed to be able to bend lengthways along the strip without causing any damage to the LEDs. This flexible lighting can be used to create curves and shapes.
Why do I need a side bending LED strip?
The side bending feature of this type of LED strip can help you to curve around sharp edges on countertops or shelves to highlight areas of your space but it can also be used to create unique shapes or letters for signs. This amazingly flexible LED lighting can bend vertically and laterally, giving you the ultimate control of where to place your LED strip.
In the past, neon lights were made with luminous gas-discharge tubes but with the development of LED lights, there are now other options such as side bending LED strips. Make the shapes or letters for your design in this versatile LED neon strip lighting that is available in a range of colours.
One of the best features of LED strip lights is that you can choose the perfect warmth of white for your project. For some types of LED lights, you can also install a controller, available at ArcLED, so you can change the brightness of your lights depending on your activity. While the spectrum of LED white lights is wider, here are the most popular types of white lights:
- Very Warm White Side Bending LED Strip – Starting with the softest tone of white LED lights, very warm white has glowing yellow tones so if you are looking to create a cosy and inviting ambience in your restaurant, hotel, or home then the very warm white LED strip is a great choice.
- Warm White Side Bending LED Strip – If you would like the perfect balance of cool and warmth from your LED lights then warm white is the answer. Warm white LED strips have subtle yellow glowing tones to add a gentle warmth to your space.
- Natural White Side Bending LED Strip – If you love nothing more than being outside in sunlight then natural white is the tone for you. Natural white is designed to mimic outdoor light levels for a bright and refreshing tone that is mostly white with hints of sunshine yellow.
If you like flexibility from your lighting and want to be able to adjust the light levels, then our changeable LED strips will give you this versatility. You will need to install extra hardware such as a controller to help you change your lighting but this extra step is worth it in the long run.
Choosing an RGB+W strip allows you to choose from red, green, blue and tones of white. The range of white lights available will depend on the product you choose. For example, the RGBWW Side bending LED strip will allow you to achieve a warm white and any warmer white lights such as very warm white. You will also have red, green, and blue settings providing it is installed correctly. If you want even more flexibility from the white LEDs, the RGBNW Side bending LED strip increases your level from 3000k to 4000k in order to achieve all the warm whites up to natural white as well as red, green, and blue.
Is it ok to bend LED strip lights?
It is only ok to bend LED strip lights if your product is designed for this purpose. Most LEDs are flexible if they are on strips but they may only be designed to bend to certain angles. The difference with the LED side bending strip is that it can bend in a variety of directions.
What is the difference between side bend and top bend LED strips?
The main and most important difference between side bend and top bend LED strip lights is the direction the LED strip bends. Generally, top bend can be bent vertically whereas side bend can be bent horizontally. It is important to bend your LED strip lighting the correct way, not only so the product will not be damaged but also so the light is emitting in the intended direction.
Will both sides of an LED strip still work if you cut it?
As long as you correctly cut the LED strip, the lights will remain working. With ArcLED, you can use our made to measure service so that one of our experts can cut your flexible LED strip for you. Provide the measurements of your project and our team can advise you on the best product for you. It is important to take into consideration that LED strips can only be cut at certain measurement intervals.
Our team of experts is here to help you find the best side bending LED strip for your project. We work with businesses and DIY enthusiasts to help light up your space exactly the way you want. In our product imagery and data sheets you can see examples of the different colours and white tones for the LED strip lights to help you choose the right style for your room.
Flexibility is the key to the side bending LED strip so if you are looking for a modern and energy-efficient method for creating signs or displays, then this is the product for you. For any tricky spaces or awkwardly sized surfaces, a side bending LED strip may fit in where no other type of LED is possible.
