Tile in profiles are a specific type of aluminium casing that is designed to protect your LED strip lights. Strip light LEDs must be installed inside a profile for safety. The tile profiles are specifically designed to be installed between tiles whether that is on your floor or wall. This is a useful feature to allow your lights to blend in seamlessly whether you are lighting a route to a bathroom, exit, or entrance or creating feature lighting. This clever design allows your lights to blend in with your room.

Aluminium profiles are usually used when installing strip LED lighting as a safety feature. The reason for placing your LED strips inside a case is that it acts as a heat sink. The excess heat that is produced by LEDs is absorbed by the aluminium material preventing the lights from overheating and keeping you safe. The aluminium casing also protects the light from any outside factors such as dust, human contact and other small debris. This means that none of these foreign objects will interfere with your lighting system, allowing it to work for its long lifespan. Most LED lights are designed to last for at least several years if not more. Some have warranties of up to 7 years so making sure they are installed in protective profiles is an important step when planning your new LED lights.

These compact LED profiles are designed to blend seamlessly with your room which is why the subtle casing comes in a range of colours to fit your design. Choose from silver and black. Silver adds a stylish metallic look to the profiles while black is a classic colour that blends in with most aesthetics. While the LEDs are turned on you may not notice the profiles but when the lights are off, you will want the casing to blend in with your other design choices.

Whether you are adding LED strip lights to your home or commercial space, there are plenty of areas that benefit from this type of lighting. This includes lighting bedrooms, dining rooms, entertainment rooms, and kitchens or to use in specific areas such as displays, staircases, and doorways. In your business, you may want to create feature lighting in your hotel lobby or restaurant or light an office with bright daylight effect lights.

To install the aluminium tile profiles lay down a tile then lay your aluminium profile next to it. Lay the next tile on top of the patterned metal strip that is attached to the casing. Make sure you have finished installing your LED strip before laying your profile and add the end cap to seal it in. You can then lay the tile profile onto cement and add your tile on top of the protruding metal piece to secure it in place. This clever casing sits flush with your tiles to provide a subtle but bright lighting solution. Make sure to check the measurements to ensure that your LED profiles will sit level with your tiles in order to get a seamless aesthetic and ensure that it is safe.

It is important to consider every product you are using. For example, you will need your lights to be waterproof or at least splashproof for installation in certain areas. The tile in profiles are ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, swimming pools or even patios when used correctly.

With a range of sizes available, you will be able to find the right profile to fit the type of LED strip lights you are using. It needs to be installed inside the aluminium casing first and then laid between your tiles once it is ready.

For most projects, you will need straight tile profiles as well as corner tile in profiles. The corner profiles work by placing them underneath two tiles that are 90 degrees to each other. The corner profile has two metal patterned pieces so that it can be securely attached under two tiles allowing it to sit snugly in the corner of your room.

If you want to install your LED strips on your stairs then you will need a tile in stair profile. This has a lip that allows it to sit flush against your stair. The installation process is similar to other types of tile profiles where the end cap is placed on and then the profile can be laid on top of cement. The final step is to place the tile on top to finish the installation and secure the profile in place.

The final type of profile is the flush tile in profile which allows you to mount the fixture on cement without it being underneath a tile. This can make it easy to change in the future as you may not need to remove tiles in order to reach your LED profiles. The finished aesthetic is much the same as the other types of tile in profiles but may not be quite as secure.

This range of tile in profile designs allows you to install your lights in places where traditional lighting may not fit. Sealing it between tiles as part of your flooring means that a long warranty is important so that you know your lights are going to last.
